The Moroccan financial market

The Casablanca Stock Exchange was born on 7 November as the Office de Cotation des Valeurs Mobilières. The Bourse has gone through three major reforms.
The first, in 1948, was the establishment of the Bourse as a legal person. The second, in 1967, was its reorganisation as a public entity. Finally, in 1993, a number of laws reformed the market and gave the Bourse the necessary regulatory framework and technical means to become a truly modern stock market.

Important events since then have been:

September 1993
Creation of the market watchdog, the Conseil Déontologique des Valeurs Mobilières (CDVM)

August 1995
Creation of the exchange company, the Société de la Bourse des Valeurs de Casablanca (SBVC)
